AI Marketing Training For Solicitors And Law Firms
AI marketing training for law firms, taught by an LLB qualified trainer with nearly 30 years experience in the legal sector
Solicitors and law firm marketing managers can use ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Perplexity, or Claude to draft website content, blog posts, social media posts, and FAQs, as well as undertake technical SEO/GEO and generate comprehensive reports and competitor analysis. However, you must ensure everything you do with AI for marketing is legally accurate and SRA compliant. On 19th November 2023, the SRA published a Risk Outlook report confirming that three-quarters of the largest solicitors’ firms were already using AI and emphasised the need for adequate staff training. At Lawtelligence, we provide comprehensive AI training for legal marketing that covers regulatory compliance, prompting, reviewing, researching, and publishing AI-assisted marketing for law firms.
Why does AI marketing feel so confusing?
You are reading conflicting advice because most AI guidance for solicitors is written by one side or the other. A technologist explains how ChatGPT generates text but cannot tell you how paragraph 6.3 of the SRA Code of Conduct 2019 applies to your marketing output. A general marketer can explain SEO and GEO, EEAT, and social media, but has never opened the SRA’s AI guidance or Code of Conduct and does not understand the nuances of the legal market.
Having worked in the legal sector for almost 30 years, and holding a legal qualification, Corinne McKenna provides training that bridges the gap between AI expertise and legal knowledge.
Who is training your AI legal marketing?
Corinne McKenna delivers this training personally, either at your office or online. She holds an LLB and has worked in legal services for more than 28 years, starting at LexisNexis in the UK and New Zealand, where she trained solicitors, barristers, the judiciary, and legal academics to use online legal research systems accurately and compliantly.
For 12 years, Corinne directed The Legal Copywriting Company, writing and editing website content, articles, and thought leadership for law firms, barristers, and King’s Counsel. She went on to found Lawtelligence with Paul McKenna, where she now manages SEO, content, social media, digital PR, and generative engine optimisation for small law firms across England and Wales. Her published work on E-E-A-T content standards has appeared in the Solicitors Journal and Today’s Conveyancer.
What will you learn in each module?
You work through several modules including:
- how large language models work and what options are available
- structured prompt building for legal content
- SRA compliance, data protection under the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018, and building a compliant, firm-wide workflow
- how clients are using Google and AI to find solicitors
- using AI for SEO and GEO, researching competitors and your firm’s Google rankings/AI visibility
- building a compliant, firm-wide workflow
Each module runs for around 45 minutes, plus time for questions, and builds directly on the last.
- You learn why AI tools sometimes fabricate case names, details, and statutory provisions, so you catch errors before they reach your website.
- You understand how clients are now looking for a solicitor who can help them with their legal problem.
- You learn how to evaluate your competitors’ SEO and GEO strengths and weaknesses.
- You practise a structured prompt method, covering role, context, task, format, and constraints, on your own firm’s practice area pages.
- You apply SEO and generative engine optimisation techniques, so AI search tools and Google are more likely to cite your firm.
- You leave with a detailed workbook and training notes, plus a governance template covering permitted tools, data handling, and review sign-off, ready to adapt with your COLP.
How does this training help you with using AI for legal marketing in a way that complies with your SRA duties?
You remain personally responsible for anything published under your name, even where AI produced the first draft. The SRA’s AI guidance confirms that your obligations on competence, confidentiality, and supervision apply in full when you use AI tools, and this training maps each obligation to a specific marketing task.
How is the AI marketing training for law firms delivered to you?
You choose the format that fits your practice: a half-day intensive across three modules, a full-day programme covering all six, one-to-one coaching if you are a partner or compliance officer, or online delivery if you work remotely or as a sole practitioner. A tailored in-firm programme is also available, built around your practice areas and current AI use.
How much does AI marketing training for law firms cost?
Our AI marketing training costs £750 plus VAT per delegate for a half day and £1,250 plus VAT per delegate for a full day. If the training takes place at your office, travel expenses will be additional.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does the training cover general AI use in law firms?
Although there is some cross over, our training is geared towards using public AI tools for legal marketing purposes. We do not train on using AI for reviewing contracts, writing briefs etc.
Which AI tools does the training cover?
We cover using ChatGPT, Claude, Microsoft Copilot, Perplexity, and Google Gemini.
Can you put client data into ChatGPT?
Not without care. Doing so raises confidentiality concerns under paragraph 6.3 of the SRA Code of Conduct 2019 as well as data protection issues. If you wish to use client information to build case studies or social media posts, you must typically get their full consent before doing so.
Do you need technical knowledge before you start?
No. Whether you have used ChatGPT casually or never touched an AI tool, the training is for legal professionals, not technologists.
Can this training help towards building your firm's AI policy?
Yes. You receive a governance template covering permitted tools, data handling, and review obligations, which you adapt with your COLP to your firm’s own practice areas.
